ASSESSING THE IMPACT OF CLIMATIC EVENTS ON HUMAN PRODUCTIVITY AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE NIGER DELTA REGION OF NIGERIA

Climate change has become a global issue that world leaders are battling to keep in check. This work was carried out examine the impact of climatic events on human productivity and development Niger Delta region Nigeria. The area study three states Bayelsa, Rivers AkwaIbom.The procedure for sampling cluster technique which involved demarcation ecological lines into north, central south, two hundred four respondents were used from each state making sample size six twelve elicit needed information. research design an explanatory field survey aimed at gathering data using questionnaire as instrument. employed analysis chi square. economic activity targeted agriculture results indicated altered farming activities people. It recommended extension workers should be continuously trained educated current information about climate sent enlighten farmers.
